Do you offer warranty on the watches?
Yes, all our watches are covered by a 2 year warranty.
Are the watches waterproof?
The Gyre SeaCleaner is water resistant to 100 meters (10ATM), so you can wear it in water - free of care.
What are the watches made out of?
Local fishermen collect the ghost nets from the sea and deliver it to our recycler. For this they receive a fee, so we also contribute to the local economy. The nets are then cleaned and made into pellets. Those pellets are used in a mold for the case. With a 316L stainless steel case back for comfortable wear and protection. And a high quality anti-reflective scratch-proof sapphire crystal.
What is the strap made out of?
The strap is currently being made entirely out of recycled plastic bottles. Non-toxic dyes are used.
We are currently working on the last steps to produce a strap made out of fishing nets. The same material as the case.
What are the case dimensions?
The case has a diameter of 42mm case with a height of only 11,5mm (including the glass).
What kind of movement can be found inside?
It is a Seiko Epson solar movement, cal. VS42A. We have chosen the most advanced solar powered movement. One that even after 20 years retains at least 80% of its power reserve capacity.
How do I choose the color?
Depending on the total funds collected, you can choose the the watch with green color accents on an all black or black with green stripe recycled NATO-strap. If we reach €25.000, we can offer you the watch with blue color accents on either an all black or black with blue stripe recycled NATO-strap.
When will I receive the watch?
Our target is to ship the watches by September for the Kickstarter orders and October for the Indiegogo InDemand orders. We are confident this will succeed as planned, but of course we will keep all backers informed. We hopefully will open up regular orders soon.
How much money will go towards The Ocean Cleanup?
We will donate 5% of our turnover to The Ocean Cleanup to help them clean our oceans and rivers. In due time we will make an announcement and update our backers with how much money we were able to donate.
Do you cover all duties and taxes on the watch?
Unfortunately we are not able to do. Some countries charge an import duty for purchasing an item from overseas and the amount changes. However, we will do everything to minimize the amount you need to pay, but we can't guarantee how much you will need to pay. Best to check it with customs in the country where you live.
From where will the watches be shipped?
The products will be shipped from The Netherlands after they have been assembled by our watchmakers.
What kind of lume do you use?
For the hands and the 12, 3, 6 and 9 indices we use high-quality Super-Luminova.
